What you get back

Less worry, better decisions, and a plan you actually understand.

Know exactly where you stand

Income, outgoings, savings, debts, pensions and policies on one page - often for the first time - and a short list of what to do next.

Nothing sold to you

The fee is for the planning. If a product belongs in the plan, we research the whole market and put any commission in writing before you decide.

The same planner, every time

You know who you're meeting before you book, and that's who you deal with from the first call to every annual review. Not a call centre.

Three ways in

Find the sentence that sounds like you.

Every fee is agreed in writing before any work starts, and you know who you're meeting before you book. You never have to move from one to another.

What Essentials covers
One to three things · scoped in writing

Eolas Select with Brendan

“You've one or two decisions in front of you: a mortgage, a redundancy package, an inheritance, pensions in three places.”

A scoped piece of work with Brendan on just those elements. Usually four to five hours, quoted before it starts, finished when the work is.

How Select is scoped
Select or Complete, side by side

Two widths of the same service.

Same planner, same standards, same plain English. The only question is how much of your money life the work should cover: a few elements now, or all of it, ongoing.

Eolas Select

One to three things, solved properly.

A scoped piece of work on the part of your finances that needs attention now: a redundancy package, an inheritance, pensions to consolidate, a mortgage to re-broke. Usually two or three elements, never the lot.

  • Typically four to five hours of planning work
  • Scope and fee agreed in writing before we start
  • Project only - no ongoing fee
How Select is scoped

Not sure which? Let Brendan help you choose the right fit. On the discovery call he'll tell you which width the situation calls for - and if a few hours of Select would serve you better than a year of Complete, he'll say so.

Common questions

The things people ask before a first call.

Short answers to the questions that come up most. The full list is on our FAQ page, and the discovery call is the place for the rest.

Do I even need a financial planner?

Plenty of people manage grand on their own - but a planner earns their keep when the decisions get bigger or more tangled: a mortgage move, a redundancy, pensions scattered across old jobs, an inheritance, or simply wanting one clear plan instead of a drawer full of policies. A good planner gives you a joined-up picture, spots the gaps, and helps you make confident decisions in plain English. If you're not sure it's worth it, the free discovery call is a no-pressure way to find out.

Do I need a lot of money to work with a financial planner?

No. Financial planning is about making the most of what you have and building good growth potential over time - not about how much you start with. Our Essentials plan is designed for people getting their first proper salary or savings into shape, and many of our clients come to us long before they think they're "ready". Wherever you're starting from, there's a way to work with us.

How do your fees work?

You pay a clear, agreed fee for the planning work - the thinking, the analysis and the advice. That planning fee is separate from any product. If you decide to put a product in place through us, any commission it carries is disclosed to you in plain figures and taken into account, so you always know exactly what you're paying and why. No hidden costs, no surprises.

Are you really independent, and do you sell financial products?

We're an independent, fee-based financial planning firm - our advice isn't tied to any bank, insurer or product provider. We start with your plan, not a product. Where a product does turn out to be the right way to put a plan into action - a pension, an investment, protection cover - we can arrange it, but the plan always comes first and the recommendation is based on what suits you, not on what pays us most.

Where are you based, and do you work with people outside Tipperary?

Our office is in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, and we work with clients right across Ireland. You're welcome to meet us in person in Clonmel, or we can do everything by phone and video - whichever suits you. Distance is no barrier to working together.
