1. Co-Habiting Couples & the Hidden Financial Risks

Family has evolved. More couples today are choosing to build lives together - buying homes, raising children, and sharing finances - without getting married or entering a civil partnership. Socially, this shift is widely accepted. But from the Irish Revenue’s perspective? Not so much.

  2. Raising Money aware Kids (Without Passing on Our Money Worries)

Most parents want their children to grow up confident with money - not anxious or afraid of getting it wrong. But when we carry our own money worries, that can feel easier said than done. The good news is that raising money‑aware kids doesn’t require perfection, just calm, thoughtful conversation.

3. Raising Money aware Kids (Without Passing on Our Money Worries)

Most parents want their children to grow up confident with money, not anxious or overwhelmed by it. Yet many of us carry our own money worries. The challenge is supporting our children without passing that stress on.

Children learn about money first through language. Shifting from phrases like “we can’t afford that” to “that’s not how we’re choosing to spend our money right now” teaches values and choice, rather than fear.

Honesty matters, but it should be age‑appropriate. Children don’t need to hear adult worries about bills or pressure, they need reassurance that money is being managed.

Everyday moments matter more than formal lessons: saving for something over time, deciding not to buy straight away, or calmly correcting a mistake. These experiences build confidence and resilience.

Most of all, remember that calm is contagious. When we approach money with steadiness and self‑compassion, we help our children form a healthier relationship with money, one that they can carry with them into adulthood.
